Gear check at Alpine Ascents day before the trip. Our guide (sitting in the cap) had just summited Rainier the day before and would be heading back to Rainier the day after our return. No days off.
Night before the start, my pack packed and ready to rock.
The approach was a beautiful hike through an old growth forest with rivers raging, wild blueberries, and wildflowers.
Last stop before starting the "Railroad Grade" - a steep climb along a beautiful ridge with a steep rocky slope on one side and green wildflowers on the other.
